I spent most of my life doing things the “right” way. I graduated high school, went to college, got married, got a dog, got a good job, had a baby, bought a home, got a better job, bought a nicer home…..you get the picture. I built the American Dream (I think I even had a white picket fence at some point). I also lived with a deep and profound yearning for something more.
I’m Krista. I was born and raised in Washington State and have lived in Arizona, Oregon, and now Yucatán, Mexico. I’m married to my ride-or-die, Jorge, and together we’re raising our daughter, Emilia. I love piña coladas and getting caught in there rain. Just kidding. I do, however, like long walks on the beach (gag, I know) and hunting for mermaids shells. I also love big, juicy conversations with my hubby, and making art with our kiddo. My family is my biggest passion in life and the reason for everything I do – including this blog!
We left our comfy cozy life in the US via first class Delta tickets on September 14, 2025 and have been having the adventure of a lifetime ever since.
I want this blog to be a place of inspiration and information for anyone who resonates with any part of our story. I think a lot of people get stuck in life because we’ve all become really good at tolerating a life that doesn’t quite fit, not because we’re lazy or afraid. It’s convenient to be comfortable, you know?
I’m action-oriented by nature. When I decide, I decide — and then I build the bridge while walking across it. This blog exists for people who want clarity, honesty, and permission to question the default path without blowing up their entire lives (unless they want to).
I share what I’m learning about living intentionally and internationally, making bold but grounded choices, and designing a life that prioritizes time, alignment, and presence. I certainly don’t have it all figured out, but isn’t that the fun part?
If any of that resonates with you, you’re in the right place. Welcome.
Comfortably Uncertain,
Krista
